The study of transport in a fluid of charged particles (i.e. a plasma).

Similar to the study of hydrodynamics but with the addition of electromagnetic effects. The addition of long-range interactions due to electromagnetism mean that a plasma displays collective effects.

Several types of electromagnetic waves may be set up in a plasma. See Alfven waves, magnetosonic waves and Landau damping.

Used in study of celestial and terrestial plasmas (e.g. astrophysics, solar physics and fusion research).

Often known simply as MHD. See also the equations of magnetohydrodynamics.
