Macross Plus

The second part in a four generation anime series. A story about an AI named Sharon Apple that becomes aware and attempts to do in her creator. Other generations were Macross, otherwise known as Robotech in the U.S. (though in reality they aren't the same thing), Macross II - which happens after Macross Plus - and Macross 7.

Macross Plus first came out as a 4 part OAV series. Later, new animation was added and a movie edition was released. Personally, I feel the story is about the strange relationships between Guld, Isamu and Myung more than Sharon Apple, but YMMV. The soundtrack for this series was done by the incomparable Yoko Kanno, one of the best composers ever.
