Main character in a series of books called The Executioner, written by Don Pendleton. Mack was a sniper in the Vietnam War, and when he got home he found that his family had been killed by the Mafia. He vowed to get his revenge. From that moment onward, Mack travelled from city to city, packing heavy artillery and laying waste to every Mafia establishment he came across. Despite his definite "badguyness" in The Executioner series, the character of Mack Bolan was later turned into a sort of James Bond-ish good-guy character in later series of books.
