LocalDirector is a rather poor and out-of-date Network Load Balancing box made by Cisco. They realised this, so they bought Arrowpoint who make the Intelligent Director and renamed it the CSS11100 Series. IT's abou the same price as a Local Director but has lots of nice features and more interfaces.
