A novel, written by Laura Ingalls Wilder in 1932, based on her early childhood in the Big Woods of Wisconsin. In it, she turns five years old, gets her first real doll (though she said of her first doll "It wasn't her fault that she was a corncob.") for Christmas, plays with an inflated pig's bladder, and listens to her Pa play the fiddle and tell stories about when he and their grandpa were naughty children.
