Considered to be King Ludwig II's favorite castle created. Linderhof stands as the only castles of King Ludwig II to be complete. It was built form 1870-1879. The engineering architect was Georg Dollman. Lindehof contained halls of mirrors, ceilings covered with paintings, and gilded cherubs. The interior hinted toward Renaissance and baroque styles.

The outside of the castle is extremely beautiful. The surrounding gardens reflect Italian, French, and English gardens. Having been there, my favorite ornament was a hidden artificial grotto found in the back. Supposedly, it was designed like the Blue Grotto. Linderhof, like Neuschwanstein, reflects Ludwig II's love of arts.
