A natural harbor of the Caribbean Sea found at the north entrance of the Panama Canal. Breakwaters at the entrance of the bay protect it from storms, making it a perfect waiting place for ships traveling through the canal. The bay is about 4.5 miles long and 2.5 miles wide. The cities of Cristóbal and Colón are located on its eastern shore.
