Lieutenant Galloway, played by David L. Ross, has the dubious distinction of being the only recurring character in the original Star Trek series to be killed off. He was a redshirt who managed to survive being a transporter officer in The Galileo Seven (TOS), the aging disease in Miri (TOS), being held hostage on Eminiar VII in A Taste of Armageddon (TOS), and beaming down to the planet of the Guardian of Forever in The City on the Edge of Forever (TOS). He was vaporized by Captain Ronald Tracey in The Omega Glory (TOS).
