"The Writing or Compellation of Dictionaries." Often appears as "lexicography," influenced by "lexicon." From the Greek root of "lexical" and "-graphy." Literally meaning "Writing about the Words of a Language."
Also pertains to an art of definition of words; or a system of writing, where each symbol represents a word.
