1949 Albert Camus play. Not terribly popular (at least not to English translators; I have no clue about its popularity in French-speaking countries) because it attempts to explain, and even make one somewhat more sympathetic to, the actions of a group of socialist terrorists in Tsarist Russia. Nonetheless, I find the emotions of the characters terribly moving (only it and Romeo and Juliet have ever made me cry to read).
