The Lehrstücke (eng. teaching pieces): "Plays that should provide knowledge instead of experiences" (Bertolt Brecht)

At the end of the 20s, Bertolt Brecht began writing didactic pieces specifically for students in which problems of society were presented. Students from 11 to 20 years-old were presented the works and asked for commentary, improvements, changes. In working through the plays, they came to understand the problem at hand in a way deeper than would normally be expected.
