Lappi is an unctuous semi-soft cheese, with a sweet flavour and a pale yellow colour, which is made in Finland's Lapland region.

Lappi is surprisingly low in fat, at 27%, through the use of skim milk. It slices easily, and is similar to Dutch Edam. It is matured for six weeks before sale, and has a shelf life, in rindless "loaves", of nine months.
