This album is often thought of as one of the major emo landmarks (along with such albums as Husker Du's Zen Arcade, or Weezer's Pinkerton). The raw emotion and grungey blend of, at the time, unusual guitar created a new sound - with a sentimentality not reached in Diary. The album was thought to be the last proper release fans would see from Sunny Day, when two members left to join Dave Grohl playing as his backing band in the Foo Fighters.
