The kodkod (Felis guigna) is a small species of wild cat. It has an extremely restricted range, a few small areas of forest in Chile and Argentina. It resembles the Geoffroy's cat, having a buff coat with black spots, but is smaller, around 5 pounds, and has a short, stocky, thickly furred tail with black rings, a small head with large ears and closely-placed features. Virtually nothing is known about its behavior in the wild, and because of its limited range it is very vulnerable to habitat destruction.
