An extremely diverse artist who both produces and mixes a vast range of electronic music from contemporary electronica and noise to gabber beats, jungle and pop . Born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1979 as Miguel Depedro Kid606 currently lives in San Francisco where he runs the Tigerbeat6 music label. A good example of his mixing abilities can be found in the album, The Action Packed Mentallist Brings You the Fucking Jams, in which he mixes together the likes of Eminem, the Bangles Walk Like an Egyptian, Missy Elliott and kylie minogue along side A-HA and Jay-z in what can only be described as an eclectic dustbin of variety which is for the most part set to a very fast and addictive beat. A good example of music which he has produced can be found in the album Down with the scene which I would describe as layer upon layer of complex sound and noise interwoven carefully with a few unusual catchy beats and sounds . Their is a big difference between the two albums I mentioned above . The first one I find is the type of album that is best played on your stereo amongst friends while the second one is of the type that is better suited to headphone's if you catch my drift . A warning for people planning to buy any of Kid606's music .I would strongly advise that you give any album by Kid606 that you are intending to buy a preliminary listening to lest you be severely disappointed as his style can vary a lot between different release's . A good litmus test to find out if you like kid606 or not is to download Kid606's remix of Straight Outta Compton from soulseek or some other p2p network.
