Keiko Yamada is a J-pop singer made famous as the lead singer of globe.

Keiko was born on August 18, 1972 in Oita, Japan. Her family runs a Japanese restaurant called Yamada-y and until she auditioned for globe, she had never sang professionally before even though she loved to sing. In 1994 while working in an office, her friends urged her to audition in the Eurogroove Night Talent Search which Tetsuya Komuro held to find a lead female vocalist for his new group. Although many people considered her somewhat unattractive and awkward and she even fell on her way up to the stage at the audition, she just began singing as soon as she regained her balance and her strong and clear voice spoke for itself. Originally, Avex Trex wanted her as a solo artist but Komuro picked her as the lead singer of globe.

As a vocalist, she has a very wide range which reaches very high and although the single "FEEL LIKE DANCE" (1995) was the first song she'd ever worked on, it brought her great fame. Keiko is very emotional in her singing and although she has a bit or a rebellious streak, she is a very disciplined artist. In 2000, she kicked off a solo tour in Oita and is still with globe today.

She has two dogs, Es and Love and can be reached at keiko@komuro.com
