a classic comic book artist who is still at work. Kupert was born in 1926 as the child of Polish immigrants. At the age of 11, he got into the comics business working as an apprentice in a production house. He has been in the industry ever since.

He has done work for Sgt. Rock, Hawkman, Tarzan, Enemy Ace, Batman, and The Flash. Lately, he has switched to a longer format, producing graphic novels such as Tor and Abraham Stone. His best recent work is Fax From Sarajevo, a 1996 graphic novel on the true story of a colleague's experiences during the Serbian siege of the city.

Kupert also runs his own art school, which is devoted exclusively to the comic book format.

I got most of this information from the back cover of Fax From Sarajevo
