British Royal Navy slang for the first lieutenant, or executive officer, on board a ship (but see ship). Etymology obscure. Also heard in the alternative formations James the First and Jimmy the One.

Also, and unrelatedly, Cockney rhyming slang for urination: Jimmy Riddle == piddle.

Jim"my (?), n.; pl. Jimmies (#). [Cf. Jemmy.]

A short crowbar used by burglars in breaking open doors.

[Written also jemmy.]
