Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder (d. 1996) was a CBS football analyst for 12 years. He was famous for his Las Vegas style tough guy charm: talking tough and loud, chest hair popping out of his open collar, peeling money off of a roll, that sort of thing. He was fired in 1988 for comments he made to a TV reporter speculating on the genetic differences between black and white athletes. Blacks were "bred to be the better athlete because, this goes all the way to the Civil War when ... the slave owner would breed his big woman so that he would have a big black kid." Snyder later apologized for his shoddy grasp of genetics and sensitivity, but his career was already over.
