Jim Blinn is a widely known and respected computer graphics guru, having worked on such important techniques as bump mapping and reflection mapping, as well as the shading method that bears his name. He now works as a Graphics Fellow at microsoft research, and writes a regular column called "Jim Blinn's Corner" for Computer Graphics and Applications. Has published collections of these articles as "A Trip Down the Graphics Pipeline" and "Dirty Pixels". He has recieved many awards and honors, including the first SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Achievement Award.
