FitQuest Workout log for 25/i/10 to 31/i/10:

  • Tuesday: 90 minutes of top rope climbing. (Indoor at the Pleasance, first time in their roped room.)
  • Sunday: Gym session at the Pleasance

Had hoped to manage three sessions again this week but failed: although the climbing session was double the usual amount of time I spend there, top-roping is easier than bouldering and you're mostly resting when belaying. Still, that's not just about the exercise and I was pleased to complete an assortment of routes at the upper end of my ability level. Plus I'd only intended to hit the rowing machine this morning and was pleased to find I felt up to more. Admittedly, my legs now hate me and based on the Cardiovascular training writeup my heart rate goes way too high too easily when cycling.

Workout log for January 25, 2010 – January 31, 2010

Monday, January 25, 2010: Worked late today, skipped workout.

Tuesday, January 26, 2010: Watched the 1945 French film Children of Paradise while working out.

Crunches: 30 reps, 5 sets
20lb Curls: 15 reps, 5 sets

Wednesday, January 27, 2010: Dance Dance Revolution. 40 minutes clock time, 30 minutes game time, 304 Calories. 19 songs.

Thursday, January 28, 2010: I was going to skip my bowling night but since I skipped Monday, I did some pushups and crunches. Bowling must have taken more out of me than I thought it does, because my performance was disappointing.
Set 1: 30 pushups, 30 crunches
Set 2: 16 pushups, 30 crunches
Set 3: 11 pushups, 20 crunches
My bowling average continues to go up. I beat my 160 average all three games today.

Friday, January 29, 2010: Dance Dance Revolution. 40 minutes clock time, 30 minutes game time. 19 songs, but I forgot to write down how many Calories it calculated I burned. It was probably between 250–300.

Saturday, January 30, 2010: 4 hours digging with Habitat for Humanity.

Sunday, January 31, 2010: Timed myself on a 1-mile run @ 8 minutes, 4 seconds (7.4 miles per hour). I was hoping to beat my previous time of 7:57 (7.5 miles per hour). I can console myself with the fact that I did beat a photon on its way to the Earth from the Sun.
