James Tucker is a physician and author. He attended Tufts University in Boston and then Columbia Medical School in New York. He decided on being a pediatrician, and completed his residency at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

In 1998 he published his first work entitled Abra Cadaver. It was the first in, what is now, a trilogy of medical murder mysteries set in Pittsburgh. Tucker has always been interested in magic and has incorporated elements of it into each of his novels by way of lead character Jack Merlin (I know the last name might be a bit much).

His books to date (all of which are fun reads):

  • Abra Cadaver (1998)
  • Hocus Corpus (1999)
  • Tragic Wand (2000)
