Andrew Jakeman - his pseudonym has that old-school showbiz-shark glitz. A "pub rock" entrepreneur (musicians from that era have had a frequent presence in his endeavours) who co-founded Stiff Records, and the man who, arguably, turned a mild-mannered singer/songwriter named D P Costello into a psychogeek icon named Elvis. After leaving Stiff, he formed Riviera Global Productions, the short-lived F("uck", if you wish)-Beat, and, w/Elvis, Demon Records, a label as great as Stiff.
