A non-profit professional organization, related to the
International Conference of Building Officials which promulgates fire-safety codes. These codes are developed with the benefit of input from fire and public safety officials, engineers, and
construction industry representatives.
Various states and municipalities then elect to adopt the provisions of these fire-safety codes into law in their jurisdictions.
This organization, like others that promulgate safety regulations, also offers training and certification in the fire-safety field.
