Founded in 1522 in Venice, children with incurable diseases were sent to the Incurabili. The children were taught music, and gave concerts for the people of Venice. Two famous musicians taught there: harpsichordist Baldassare Galuppi, and a maestro di violini, Matteo Puppi. Matteo Puppi taught at the Incurabili between 1736 and 1776.
