A logical fallacy in which the subject term of the conclusion of a categorical syllogism is a universal, but the same term in the premises is a particular.

Example:
  All juvenile delinquents are young people.
  All juvenile delinquents are law breakers
  Therefore, all young people are law breakers.

To prove the minor illicit, show that there may be members of the subject category not mentioned in the premises which are contrary to the conclusion. In the above example, "My adorable little cousin is a young person, and she never breaks the law. So, not all young people are law breakers."
