Ignacio "El Indio" Figuredo was a Venezuelan composer and musician, born in the state of Apure in 1899.

He wrote many excellent joropos -- El Gavilán and María Laya are the most famous of his llanero songs. At only 11 years old he was composing and competing in song contests. He was also a legendary performer on the Venezuelan harp.

Ignacio Figueredo died in 1995.
