AOL's brand-new proposed standard protocol for synchronization of instant message networks. This will allow several messengers to be able to communicate regardless of protocol and service.

Interestingly enough, the RFC is co-authored by Andy Wick, who I traced through lots of fingering back when the TOC server was replaced with a SunOS box (see TOC hath died).
