Interactive Entertainment Network vs. MUD
Materia Magica is an Interactive Entertainment Network (IEN), and tries hard to avoid the common name of MUD. MUD implies some old-fashioned connotations that do NOT apply to this progressive game environment. The administrators kindly ask that players try to refrain from the old- fashioned MUD acronym, and use "Materia Magica" to refer to the game as a whole. Your help in this is greatly appreciated, and will enhance the fantasy role-playing feel of Materia Magica.
