Hugh Dennis is a British comedian. He is the son of a Bishop and is known for his particularly gentle way of poking fun at the Anglican church.

Hugh was part of the Steve and Hugh double-act on Jasper Carrott's TV show, Carrott Confidential with Steve Punt.

Hugh went on to become part of the Mary Whitehouse Experience with Rob Newman, Steve Punt and David Baddiel.

He's still very much on the scene as far as UKTV goes, having most recently appeared for the full series of Jack Dee's Happy Hour.

Hugh and Steve are still alive and well and doing great comedy, but on BBC Radio 4 instead of the telly. Their main project at the moment is The Now Show, a topical news sketch show that has the same satirical style that Punt and Dennis demonstrated on The Mary Whitehouse Experience and other TV stuff.
