Annual music poll of the year's 100 hottest songs as chosen by listeners of ABC radio station Triple J. Triple J is a government funded, non-commercial radio station and hence the Hottest 100 is (supposedly) immune to all commercial marketing influences.
The counting down of the Hottest 100 is held on Australia Day, the 26th of January.

Here's the lists:
Triple J is a national alternative station. They try not to play mainstream stuff, they try to play a lot of local bands. They just don't play Teeny-Bopper stuff, you will never hear Britney Spears on JJJ. Likewise they are not a dance station, they play some dance music, they have spots devoted to dance music, Mix-Up on Saturday nights being the most prominent, but it isn't a dance music station. People who want to listen to dance music and little else don't tune in to JJJ regularly.
