Latin for "Man is a wolf to man", or, people are often cruel at each other. (See Man's Inhumanity to Man)

Wise and often accurate saying, however, it is not that nice to wolves (who are generally less destructive than humans).

"Man is a wolf to man." The creation of this proverb is attributed to the Roman poet Plautus. The phrase was later used by Thomas Hobbes in his work de Cive.
