Holly Golightly is the role Audrey Hepburn played in Breakfast at Tiffany's and is probably most remembered for. even if they don't recognize the name.. the image of her in the "perfect little black dress", poised with a cigarette holder.. a pair of big black sunglasses.. and shimmering the most delicate tiara and collar necklace... all so simple and elegent... easy, yet carefree.

Truman Capote knew that there are some people who need to be cared for. His story has considerably more pathos than the movie, which of course has a traditional Hollywood ending. The character so desperately needed shelter - from herself, from her memories, from the world. She seemed to survive mainly by getting money from strange men to go to the powder room - then she'd escape out the window.
