A video tape standard created by Sony to supersede its previous Video-8 standard. Uses the same media cartridge but has media that allows for denser video. Also includes digital time codes and a digital stereo PCM audio track in addition to the two stereo analog tracks. This long time portable video champ has since been replaced by D8.
