Het`e*rop"o*da (?), n. pl. [NL., fr. Gr. other + -poda.] Zool.

An order of pelagic Gastropoda, having the foot developed into a median fin. Some of the species are naked; others, as Carinaria and Atlanta, have thin glassy shells.
