A dead modem and telecommunications hardware manufacturer.

Founded by Dennis Hayes, Hayes began the PC modem and telecommunications furor. Unfortunately, like many entrepreneurs, Dennis Hayes made a poor administrator. He lacked the skills necessary to see where the market was going and direct Hayes accordingly. Hayes began by selling modems to business and government customers at very high margins. The company was broadsided by US Robotics when modems became a consumer item and lost most of its market share. Still, it was a fun place to work.
