Baldur's Gate II character. Haer Dalis' is the only
Bard NPC you can pick up - and a really
disappointing one at that. Sure,
he can hold his own in a fight - but that's what
fighters are for. You want a good Bard in your party for their
Lore rating which helps you identity magic items, and the
Blade kit he belongs to sacrifices the Lore ability. Bah.
Goodbye.
The quest to get the guy is one of my favorites in the game though... rescue the poor sod from a powerful wizard who has him charmed... and then, just when you do that he gets sucked into an extra-planar prison which you have to break him out of.
Now would you really want someone in your party who can't keep himself out of that much trouble?!? I certainly don't.
My other chief complaint about good ole Haer is that he isn't a romance canidate. I just don't understand why... of all the male NPCs in the game he certainly takes the sexy cake.
