Star in the constellation Serpens magnitude 6.92, about 128 light-years away, with a right ascension of 182004.11 and a declination of -093534.6 and spectral type G5.

It has two planets. One, HD 168443 b, is orbiting at about .28 AU with eccentricity of 0.55 ± 0.04 every 57.9 ± 1 days, with a mass of 7.2 ± 0.4 Jupiters. The other was recently confirmed and is HD 168443's claim to fame: HD 168443 c has a mass of 15.1 or more Jupiters, and astronomers aren't sure what to make of it; even if it is a planet or not, since it was previously believed that bodies that large must have collapsed into stars. It orbits at 2.67 AU with an eccentricity of 0.275 ± 0.049 every 1667 ± 46 days.
