First step in assembly of the kit was soldering 500 header pins to the motherboard.

With an 8080 CPU, the H-8 has a 16-pad console and LEDs displaying addresses in split octal. Software on cassette used Manchester-Byte encoding and included the HASL-8 assembler and Benton Harbor BASIC.
