Guadalupe Peak is the highest point in Texas at 8,751 feet above sea level, and is an attraction of Guadalupe Mountains National Park. The mountain is part of the world's most significant mass of Permian limestone fossil reef.
A well-established 8.4 mile round-trip trail leads to the top of the peak, which is known to provide some of the best views in the area, including a look at the nearby El Capitan. A small metal pyramid stands at the top of Guadalupe Peak commemorating the highest point in the state.
