Johann Kienau, a north German writer and poet born in 1880. He died in the
battle of Jutland in
World War I.
Nowadays, better known as the name of
a windjammer used by the German Navy for training and representative purposes. It was launched on August 23rd 1958. It's a 1760 ton three-mast barque, almost 90 meters in length and the main mast is 45.5 meters high. Its home harbour is Kiel, but it has visited over 300 harbours all over the world and travelled over 500,000 nautical miles
