I eventually ended up with this from Black and Cravey's reference section/comedy website. They had a series of bible related essays. In one of them, there was a dumbed down version of the ten commandments, and comments on what was okay, and what was not okay to do. One of the notes by the third commandment, which happened to be "Thou shalt not take the lord's name in vain," mentioned to the reader that it was good if you tried to follow this commandment, but saying, "Goddammit, I forgot the third commandment again," every once in a while was acceptable.

Of course, this punchline got into my head, and then it worked it's way into my everyday speech, like so many things do. Try it sometime, it's fun, and it makes you feel like a better person, because you're not just swearing, you're swearing and making an excuse for it at the same time.

Hey, it's better than watching a few Keanu Reeves movies and then not being able to stop yourself from saying, "Whoa," before, after, and in the middle of all your sentences, right?
