Glenmorangie is a Scottish single malt whisky distilled in Fearn, Ross-shire, on the shores of the Dornoch Firth. The first distillery was built in 1820, and licensed by the Matherson family in 1843. They purchased second-hand stills from a London gin distiller, and these add a unique quality to the finished product, as well as being smaller than the traditional whisky still. By 1980 there were four stills, growing to today's eight stills.

Glenmorangie produces a wide range of whiskies, from the 10 year-old Highland Single Malt Whisky, through to an 18 year-old. Many of these prime malts are matured in bourbon and then in port or sherry casks, producing both a mellow taste and fascinating nose to the spirit.

Brand of scotch, well-known for being "Hand-crafted by the Sixteen Men of Tain"...it's like something out of "The Lord of the Rings". The 15 year old bottle is amazing stuff but, like all scotch, drink it lightly and have a tall glass of water beside you for backup. There is a 21 year old version that's in a crystal flask...it'll set you back around $1,200.
