Born August 25, 1949 in Haifa, Israel (then named Chaim Witz), a former elementary school teacher who started the rock band Kiss with Paul Stanley. Gene plays bass (sometimes a bass shaped like an axe) and wears what I've heard called the "bat-lizard" makeup on stage, also spitting fake blood and contributing to Kiss's not-just-music showmanship.
