Your gastrointestinal tract consists of everything from your mouth to your anus. Topographically, then, it all lies outside of your body. It's prone to more dysfunctions than almost all other parts of your body, including cancer (aside from the lung, the most common site), ulcers, parasite infections, diverticula, hemorrhoids, and a whole melange of other unpleasantries.
