Culture ship; General System Vehicle. Very very large spaceship capable of carrying billions of passengers and numerous ships. Each ship is built with different goals in mind - some are for habitation and are the real urban areas of the Culture. Others are designed for shipbuilding. One example ship, the GSV So Much For Subtlety from The Player of Games, was mostly shipyards and had a population in the hundred millions. It measured 4 by 43 kilometers at some points. Such ships can be controlled by anywhere up to three seperate Minds.
