A wavetable soundchip by Gravis and Forte Technologies (apparently version 1). Hardware mixing of 32 channels, max. 1 MB onboard samplememory (banked, 4 * 256 KB banks). Could only record at 8bit. Later replaced by AMD InterWave. GF1 was used in GUS, GUS Max, GUS Ace, GUS Extreme and ViperMax.
