The first week of university, in which a high school student metamorphosizes into a freshman, or first year student. Typically this week is filled with (and fraught with) many discoveries, some good and some bad. The bad parts usually involved an excess of excess, and learning where one's boundaries are.

Also known as Freshers' Week, this is the week before the first week of the first term of most British universities. Freshers' week is intended as an opportunity for new students to get a feel for the university and student life before dumping any stressful coursework on them. During freshers' week, you will probably do most of the following things (depending on the university).

As a continuing student, freshers' week is usually the time you'll find out how your resits went, and plead with your DOS to let you proceed to the next year. It's much less fun after the first time.
