Every weekend morning I head out to get the paper from my local newspagent on Commercial Road in London. I pass this clothes outlet, FLICK FASHION and snicker, and always wonder if they named it purposely. The window display usually contains sort of hanging out suave mannequins, dressed in awful stretchy sort of embroidered and ugly even on Audrey Hepburn clothes.
I've only seen this word used for comic book sophomoric humour in Neil Gaiman's "The Kindly Ones" series for The Sandman, where Merv Pumpkinhead is lighting a cigar while saying, "I don't give a flick."
