A port on the
Chesapeake Bay established by William Fell in 1730 to serve as a shipyard. Served as the primary deep-water port for
Baltimore until 1867, when Locust Point was developed into a more modern terminal.
Fells Point was the first area noted in the National Register of Historic Districts in Maryland State.
Currently, Fells Point is home to a huge, random collection of small shops, as well as many bars and nightclubs.
